Can I Uber from the Airport to the Venue?

No, the venue is more than an hours drive from the nearest airport, and it's best to rent a car to give yourself the freedom of being able to explore while visiting.

Where can I stay?

You can check our "Where to Stay" section on the top navigation bar of the website. We also have a contact of a rental property manager in the area so we can reach out to them for you on rentals in the area if there are none to your liking on the "Where to Stay" section. Please contact us for this.

How long should I stay?

Stay as long as you want! The wedding is on May 29th, 2021. We recommend you at least spend the full Memorial Day weekend in the area to get the most out of your trip. It's a beautiful area with a lot to explore. Consider adding Asheville, NC to your trip for a few more days of fun! It's a great town only 2 hours from the venue. There are lots of wineries, sites to see and outdoor activities in this area. Check out the Biltmore if you have time as it is one of the highlights of Western North Carolina.

When should I arrive?

You can arrive whenever you like. We only have the venue from May 27th-May 30th. If you want to come for the full weekend I would suggest arriving Wednesday the 26th or Thursday the 27th. We have planned group activities for the full weekend that anyone is welcome to join. These activities are optional and you can spend your time on your own exploring!

When should I arrive on the Wedding Day?

Please plan on arriving by 5:30pm, we suggest our guests start arriving around 5pm on May 29th, 2021. Cocktail hour will start at 5:30pm and because of limited service we will not be able to stay in contact with everyone during that time. Plan to leave early from your accommodation as you may get lost.

Where do I park?

Parking is provided on the venue for up to 50 cars. If you plan to drink a lot please bring a Designated Driver. The roads are small and twisty in the venue area. Please contact us if you would like a shuttle service. If enough people request the shuttle service we can book this for everyone at the cost of the attendees.

What should I wear to the wedding?

You should avoid any shoes that would be difficult to be in all night long in an outdoor environment. (High heels can be an issue at this venue). It's an outdoor wedding, so anything comfortable outdoors. We don't have a set dress code, but we would prefer you to dress semi-formal/nice-casual (please no sweats or tuxedos). An example of this would be : a nice summer dress or nice blouse and slacks with comfortable shoes for ladies, and a nice button down and slacks for men. The color of the wedding is Blue (you do not need to wear blue), and we would prefer no one wears white (especially the ladies).

What should I pack?

The venue is in a very outdoorsy area, so most of the activities will be outdoorsy. We suggest you bring comfortable shoes/clothes to hike/explore in, a swim suit for the lake, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc. The average temperatures in the area at this time tend to be around 70s-80s during the day and 60s-50s during the night. You may also want to consider rain gear incase of rain.

Is there service/wifi at the venue?

The wifi and cell service is limited so be prepared to disconnect for a few hours.

I saw the info regarding the Rehearsal Dinner, can you give me more info on that?

We opened up the rehearsal dinner for ANYONE invited to the wedding to join, even if you are NOT a part of the wedding party and are just a guest of the wedding. Because of the crazy costs of wedding these days, along with the fact we are opening up our rehearsal dinner to all guests, we recommend people bring something to cook on the grill. The rehearsal dinner is very casual, and you can dress casual for this. It will be a grill-out, meaning hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill. We will try to buy bulk of hotdogs/hamburgers etc, but if there is something specific that you want please bring it a long. If you don't think you can make it to a grocery store but still want to join and pitch in, you can Venmo one of us, just reach out through text via our contact page on our website. *Note: People in the wedding and people directly related to the bride and groom do not need to bring anything. Let us know if you plan to join for this so we have enough food if you aren't bringing your own.

It's your birthday Thursday 5/27/21? Can I get more info?

Yes it is my birthday! (Ashley). Please meet us at the venue around 6:00pm for a little celebration! We will be doing a pot luck style dinner, and Max will be making some pizzas.

What should I pack for hiking?

The most crucial thing to pack for a hike is water.  Please bring at least 1 liter of water for the hike. Other things to bring include: Sunscreen, snacks, bug spray, first aid, sunglasses, hats, change of shirt. We suggest you wear long pants to avoid contact with poison ivy and reduce risk of ticks. Wool socks are your best friend when it comes to hiking, but the weather will be in the high 70's low 80's so plan to wear light weight gear. If it is raining please bring a rain jacket and rain pants.

In summary here is your packing list:

Backpack, Water (1 Liter at least), comfortable hiking/tennis shoes, long pants (preferable), lightweight wool socks, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, sunglasses, snacks, first aid, change of shirt (when you have wet clothes the breeze can be very cold).

If it rains:

Rain jacket, rain pants and rain cover for backpack.

I will be carrying extra bug spray and sunscreen, along with a first aid kit incase some people are unable to provide these item for themselves.

I'm worried about Covid, what are you guys doing about this during the wedding?

We encourage our guests to stay safe when traveling to the venue, wearing masks etc. We encourage

people to get tested for Covid before the wedding. You may wear a mask if you want, but at this time we are not going to enforce it. Our vendors will be wearing masks and keeping distance from people. We also recommend if you can, go get the vaccine. With vaccination and the current government mandates, the case load is dropping daily in the US and we foresee low rates of Covid come our wedding date. We will have hand sanitizer available at all times, and the venue is entirely outdoor so ventilation is really good.
